Moving into its second week of the September meet, racing resumes Friday through Sunday. In addition to Saturday’s Game Party, Churchill Downs will offer its usual Friday and Sunday activities in the Paddock Plaza with Friday Happy Hour and Sunday Family Fun Day.
Friday’s schedule at Churchill Downs includes the City’s Best Happy Hour with the aforementioned drink specials, food trucks, and live music by Aly’An from 4-7 p.m. in the Paddock Plaza. The first post on the 10-race card is 1:45 p.m.
Sunday is Family Fun Day presented by Kroger with special events geared towards kids in the Paddock Plaza. Kids can make door hangers, picture frames, or bookmarks with Scratchboard Crafts or have their faces painted by Bohemian Monkey in the Paddock Balcony from 1-4 p.m. (Bohemian Monkey is an artist, not a monkey, providing the theatrical face painting and Henna tattoos you may have seen at area fairs). The first race on the 10-race card is 12:45 p.m.
