Brighten your winter’s day with the next concert in the Mayor's Music and Arts Series. In Lightning, the Louisville-based instrumental band, will perform on at noon on Thursday, February 5th at Louisville Metro Hall. Experience the rich harmonies and unique melodies of the band’s rock symphony sounds in the fantastic acoustics of the Mayor's Gallery Listening Room.

The Mayor's Music and Arts Series spotlights local musicians the first Thursday of every month. All the shows are free and open to the public. Attendees are welcome to bring their own lunch, but due to the historic nature of the Mayor's Gallery, no outside drinks will be allowed. Louisville Pure Tap will be on hand during the concert to provide water.

In Lightning has grown since their debut in March of 2013. After playing mostly in free, outdoor concerts, In Lightning played at Headliners with Jenna Dean and A Lion Named Roar at the inaugural Brightside Bash in August of last year. All proceeds from the concert benefited the organization Brightside, the volunteer-driven organization dedicated to the beautification of Louisville. There, the band members of In Lightening met Mayor Greg Fischer, who asked if they would want to play in the Mayor's Music and Art's Series. In Lightning is excited to have the opportunity to play in the concert series, and they are looking forward to the possibilities the warmer seasons may bring, with other great concert series the city offers like Waterfront Wednesday.

WFPK 91.9 will host an interview earlier in the week of the show to promote In Lightning and the concert series. All the shows are taped and broadcast on MetroTV and on Time Warmer Cable channel 25. The videos are also available online.

    About Rebecca Ball

As great lover of books and adventure, I grew up wanting to be anywhere else. I satiated some my wanderlust in the castles and expansive forests in Europe over the past few years. Now, I live in the city that will always be home with a cat who thinks she's a person.
