    Infused bourbon

What flavors does this person like? Do those flavors go well with bourbon? Then infuse it. Here’s a how-to.

Don’t have the time/energy? Just take your friend over to Hilltop Tavern, where they have infused bourbons available at the bar.

    Whiskey cologne

    Art from Drunkwood

Locally made from old bourbon barrels, pieces from Louisville company Drunkwood make perfect gifts. You may still have time to get these state cutouts, made of bourbon barrel staves. Check out the company’s Facebook page for ordering updates.

Artist Melissa Sinkovic is making some amazing bow ties, head bands, earring and more, channeling the classic red wax and hand-made labels that Maker's Mark is famous for. You can find these gifts at Revelry.

An actual still [click photo for link]

Okay, one could argue that this may be taking it a little too far, but who hasn't gone overboard for Christmas before? The still is beautiful, easy enough to use and results in a (hopefully) good payout... if you can stand the smell of corn mash in your house. Don't forget to order a barrel, too.

Whiskey of the month club membership

Yes, "-of the month" clubs are largely gifts only given as part of a punchline, but some of them can be nice. This club isn't just bourbon (you can also expect some scotch), but they're sending out unique labels, accompanied by Whiskey 101 materials to educate the taster. You'll be giving the gift of knowledge, as well as booze. Find out more, here.
