A unique holiday tradition returns to The Bard's Town Theater tonight when The Kings of Christmas opens.
The Kings of Christmas will go on Dec. 12-15 and 19-22 at 7:30 p.m. each night. All performances are to happen in The Bard's Town, located at 1801 Bardstown Road in the Highlands.
Tickets for each show are $15 for adults, $12 for students, and $12 for senior citizens. Due to limited seating and shows selling out early (Dec. 12, 13, and 14 are already sold out), reservations in advance are highly recommended and can be done at The Bard's Town or by going to The Bard's Town website.
The Kings of Christmas features a family that lost its Elvis-impersonating patriarch ten years prior. The middle son, Carter King, is returning home for what he wishes to be his last Christmas with the family. Despite the family still recovering, a dead cat that mysteriously appears, and the possibility of the ghost of the Elvis impersonator, the family still makes a go of being together this holiday season. Can the family make it through the holiday season and, especially Carter, understand the spirit of Christmas?
Doug Schutte created the production, which is returning due to its popularity in previous years.
During The Kings of Christmas's run, The Bard's Town Theater will also present The Roast of Santa. That production also takes place this weekend.
