Would you like to keep your kids busy on Parent/Teacher Conference Monday and Election Day Tuesday? Some kids like to just take it easy when they’re out of school. Some kids like to stay active. Perhaps you’re a working parent and need an organized activity for your kids’ day off. There are a few options for you. I’ve highlighted three places where your kids can occupy their time that scream kid-friendly, exercise worthy, and educationally packed.

Head over to KaZoing! Party and Play for the especially fun open play and day camps. The open play is from 10am-2pm and is $7 per child. At KaZoing!, it’s all about the jumping and playing so there will be plenty of that! There will also be a fun craft for kids to make and free star face painting if your kids don their red, white, and blue! The schedule for the day camps is: Full Day, 9am-5pm, Half Day AM, 9am-1pm, Half Day PM, 1pm-5pm. You can call KaZoing! Directly or click here to register your kids online for these fun organized activities. For more information you can call 502- 412-1500.

Zip into All About Kids for their school’s out and day camp options. All About Kids has two locations now, the Blankenbaker site and one in Oldham County. The school’s out day camps are designed for kids 4 and up and will include swimming, open gym, TaeKwonDo, dance, gymnastics and cheer. Both locations will host a camp on Tuesday, November 6; only the Louisville location will have one on Monday, November 5. There are full day ($45) and half day ($30) options. Call to check on registering and other options: 502-809-1FUN or 502-365-1FUN.

If you want a more low-key, educational activity for your kids, check out the Kentucky Science Center’s School’s Out Science Camps. They have four fun themes planned for November 5 and 6 including “Rumble in the Jungle” for grades Pre-K-K, “Fall Foliage” for grades K-1, “Cool Chemistry” for grades 2-3, and “We’re Not in Kansas Anymore,” a weather program geared for grades 4-6. They also offer half and full day camps and prices are $20-$45 depending on if you have a membership. Click here for times and to register for these camps. You can also call the Science Center for more information at 502-561-6100, ext. 6111.
