Tonight at the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center the Kentucky State 4H Horse Show Drill Team Competition will be taking place in Broadbent Arena at 6 pm.

What is drill team competition? It is where a group of horses and riders, dressed up in costume, ride a pattern to music with precision.

The Louisville Equestrian Center is sending three drill teams to tonight’s competition. These three teams will be dressed as elves riding reindeer, 50’s era riders in poodle skirts riding poodles, and U of K Wildcats on horseback. The photos in this article are of their drill teams practicing their patterns.

Sound like fun? Come see for yourself tonight as this competition is open to the public with free admittance with paid parking.

The Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center is located at 937 Phillips Lane, Louisville, Kentucky 40209.
