Summer must be almost here because next weekend marks the beginning of the 2015 season for Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane Bay.

    Season Passes

If you’re the season pass type, make the most of the deal and get set before opening day. 2015 season passes run $109.95 (plus tax and fees) for the new option that includes free parking. The Kroger voucher deal is currently priced at $79.95. Season pass purchasing can be done online with a credit card and digital photo for each person; passes will be mailed. Or, starting opening day, April 25, you can purchase your pass at the park.

Along with the free parking, season passes include:

    • UNLIMITED admission to Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane Bay during the 2015 season.
    • UNLIMITED rides in the park, even during the Kentucky State Fair!
    • $1.00 for each soft drink (21 ounce) all season long.
    • 20% discount on all park food. (Regular price for hamburger and fries $9.95 / Season pass price $7.94)
    • 20% discount on all park merchandise. (Regular price for a t-shirt $12.95 / Season pass price $10.36)
    • FREE tubes and FREE sunscreen for everyone.

Day ticket prices, for one entry to the park during the season, are $49.95 or $39.95 online for adults and $34.95 for kids and seniors, so the season pass is definitely the way to go if you plan to visit more than once.

    Riding the Rides

The must-ride for this season is the “Next Generation of Fear” coaster. T3, or Terror to the Third Power, is a suspended looping coaster with five inversions. Not enough upside-down time? Try Cyclos, a 360-degree pendulum.

More new rides: Raging Rapids River Ride, Skycatcher swing, and the Enterprise, which looks like it’ll spin you into oblivion.

Kentucky Kingdom starts the season with weekend dates through May; weekday hours begin in June. Hurricane Bay water park has its first day May 23 (check calendar for hours).

Here’s an accolade, too: Kentucky Kingdom was included in MSN Travel’s list of the top 10 amusement parks for 2015 and expectations are high for a great season.
