    Bit to Do

    KaLightoscope - The Galt House

KaLightoscope at The Galt House opened yesterday, kicking off their second holiday season.  For 2011 the exhibit is improved with a new Christmas Village and Snow Fairy Castle attraction.  This year kids tickets are only $9.99 and Tuesdays they offer a great family deal of 4 for $40.  Tickets are now available at The Galt House Hotel box office. KaLightoscope runs now through January 2nd.

A brand new attraction is unveiled this year as the Christmas Village with Snow Fairy Castle makes its debut. The English charm of this elf-size village creation is built so children can peek directly inside and see Christmas preparations in the making. A fantasy-inspired Snow Fairy Castle is part of this attraction where children can post their favorite Christmas wishes to the Snow Fairy Princess inside. The extremely talented and esteemed Weber Group of Louisville, KY, whose resume includes works at popular theme parks and zoos across the country, designed and constructed this soon-to-be popular Christmastime favorite. Donny Weber, Vice President of Metro Louisville based design/build firm Weber Group commented, “The opportunity to work on a local attraction of the quality and vision of Christmas at the Galt House is an honor. Our work takes us throughout the United States and abroad and the chance to work at home is very welcome. Visitors from far and wide are in for a magical treat when visiting KaLightoscope, the Snow Fairy Castle, and the Christmas Village. Spending time as a family in an environment that promotes conversation, fun, and makes memories is what Christmas at the Galt House is all about.”

A more re-imagined and interactive KaLightoscope attraction is back bigger and better this year and flaunts 11 themed areas that include a brand new ice skating snowmen scene, a walk-thru Candy House, and a 15 ft. Santa. Composed of larger-than-life luminaries and handcrafted by more than 30 Chinese artisans from Zigong, China in conjunction with New York based Hotopp Associates, Ltd. and International Special Attractions, Ltd. this attraction will magnify the sights, sounds and colors of the Christmas season. The KaLightoscope lanterns are inspired from Chinese folk art and have been adapted for Western Christmas enjoyment.

    About Roxane Haynes

I am a working mother of four kids, age five and under, this includes two singletons and a set of twins. When I say working, I mean that I stay at home with them, but work my butt off to take care of them and get the "usual" things done for our home. I also help my husband with our business when I can. B.K. (before kids) I worked in the Human Resource field. Stay At Home Mom is by far my favorite career choice to date.
