Legendary comedian Jerry Seinfeld performed for a huge crowd last night at the Louisville Palace. Having been a fan of his comedy for as long as I can remember, I was thrilled to be in attendance.

I mentioned in my preview article that I was curious to see how his comedy had changed since I’m Telling You for the Last Time. I am happy to report that his humorous take on life hasn’t changed since the ‘90s. The only notable difference was that he spent a lot more time talking about his wife and kids. As a bachelor well into his forties, some of Jerry Seinfeld’s most entertaining bits centered on his life as a single man. Now those bits have been replaced by witty conclusions on things like “men and women getting ready” and “using the wrong tone.”

Seinfeld also spent time giving us his take on subjects like cell phones, Facebook and Twitter, and over-parenting. I don’t think the crowd stopped laughing for his entire hour and a half long set; we just went back and forth from chuckling to chortling to cracking up.

At the end of the show, Seinfeld asked the crowd for questions. When asked about his favorite episode, he mentioned, among others, that he like the storyline where he got to steal the rye bread from the old lady. When asked to say “Newman,” he stated that he had just seen Wayne Knight, who played Jerry’s nemesis Newman on Seinfeld, at a diner in New York City. Apparently, some fans from Australia went absolutely nuts upon seeing the well-known television show come to life in front of them.

The night was a hilarious one, full of tears and muscle cramps from laughing so hard. It was a nice change of pace to listen to a comedian who doesn’t need to resort to vulgarity or impressions to get a laugh. Jerry Seinfeld simply looks at the world in a different, more amusing way than your average person. Armed only with comedic timing and voice inflection, he is capable of making me laugh harder than anyone else!
