It was announced today that Louisville's Jennifer Lawrence is nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress for her new film, American Hustle.
American Hustle is set in the seventies, and tells the story of a con man (Christian Bale at his sleaziest best) who is working with an FBI agent (Bradley Cooper, with the worst perm we've ever seen). The FBI aganet "pushes them into the enchanting and dangerous world of Jersey powerbrokers and mafiosi." Bale's character is married to Jennifer Lawrence's character Roselyn, but is also involved with Amy Adam's character Sydney. Drama ensues.
The Huffington Post says "Jennifer Lawrence steals American Hustle," and that "the 23 year old actress is the most irresistible part of this film." A Louisville native, Lawrence has already been nominated for two Oscars, one of which she won (for Silver Linings Playbook). She has also won a Golden Globe previously, among many other awards.
