    Bit to Do

    1) She's charitable, especially when it comes to her hometown.

Back in November, the Jennifer Lawrence Foundation held an early screening of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire at Tinseltown. The event benefited St. Mary's Center, a charity that provides help to adults and teens with intellectual abilities.

Last night, another early screening of her latest film, American Hustle, was held at Baxter Avenue Filmworks. The sold-out event benefited the West End School, a private "boarding school" for at-risk males. According to various news outlets, Lawrence heard about the school from a friend and simply wanted to help.

    2) She's down to earth and funny.

Whether she's talking about dieting and food or laying on the couch and exercising, Lawrence doesn't sugarcoat the first world struggles of the girl next door; instead, she makes them comedic and says the things every girl who has spent way too much time counting calories or running on a treadmill desperately wants to say.

    3) She makes us proud.

Not every town can claim a gorgeous, universally-loved Oscar winner as their own, and, in return, she claims us. She has done some amazing things for our community, but I've also heard countless stories from people who have bumped into her at the airport, restaurants, et cetera and have nothing but wonderful things to say about her. According to them, she treats everyone here like a neighbor.

Bonus: Sometimes she sounds like an adorable hick. Click here to see her interview with WDRB's Elizabeth Woolsey where she says her nephew "just got born."
