If nothing ever fatigues you, but reading anything that is not Jane Austen, perhaps you should join the next meeting of the Greater Louisville Region's Jane Austen Society, Sunday, August 15, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Historic Locust Grove, 561

This year, all programs are centered around Jane Austen's lesser-known work, "Northanger Abbey", and on August 15, member Kathi Ellis will lead the discussion of "Northanger Abbey's Bath".

Ellis is a fan of both Austen and Shakespeare, and grew up in Buckinghamshire, England, a short distance from the Austen territory of Hertfordshire, where much of Ellis' English family lived. Her interest in Jane Austen's work began in high school when she read Pride and Prejudice.

Kathi Ellis is a theater director and historian, who is currently researching the life and career of an early 19th century Kentucky actress, who has been little-known throughout history.  As a director, her work has been seen not only across the U.S., but throughout Kentucky.

Most recently, Ellis' directorial work was seen in The Glass Menagerie at the Water Tower with ShoeString Productions.

If you're interested in Jane Austen, and especially interested in learning more about the lesser-known "Northanger Abbey", don't miss this next meeting. Each program follows a brief business meeting, and adjourns to afternoon tea.
