July is upon us, and Fourth of July weekend is almost here! Time to stock up on plenty of charcoal, hamburgers and hotdogs and get ready for your annual holiday cookout! And if you’re going to have family visiting from out of town, you should probably start thinking about how you’re going to entertain them on the days leading up to Independence Day.

If you’re looking for something fun for kids and something your in-laws will appreciate - while you actually enjoy yourself, too - look no further. The Louisville Orchestra has you covered.

On the Thursday before Independence Day weekend at the Iroquois Amphitheater, the Louisville Orchestra will provide a symphonic experience unlike any Louisville has seen before. It will conduct a once-in-a-lifetime tribute to one of the greatest bands of the 1980s: Journey.

Performing alongside one of the country’s best Journey tribute bands, Faithfully, the Louisville Orchestra will offer a new symphonic take on the band’s large collection of Top 40 hits. The Las Vegas-based tribute band, which consists of six Journey mega-fans, has been performing Journey’s greatest hits for years. And when they’re not touring as a Journey tribute band, they each perform with major headliners on their Las Vegas tour stops.

Come on, what better way is there to bond with your father-in-law than an air-guitar battle to a symphonic version of “Don’t Stop Believing?” It’s a family relationship-building exercise you can’t afford to miss out on.

The Louisville Orchestra and Faithfully will be performing at Iroquois Amphitheater starting at 8 p.m. on July 2. Tickets are on sale now for $20-$30 and can be purchased online or at the Iroquois Amphitheater box office on the day of the show or while they last.
