I once read a book about aliens and in it, one of the authors suggested that blue eyes were an alien trait; therefore, the number of people walking around with blue eyes was proof positive that aliens and humans at one time reproduced. For a few weeks after reading that book, I walked around with my head held high, confident in the knowledge that I was not completely human. And I thought it was pretty much the coolest thing ever.
Years later I realized that my blue eyes, along with both my arrogance and my pride, were 100% of human origin.
However, I still enjoy pondering extra-terrestrial life now and again but not everyone is up for discussions about such things.
So, a few weeks ago, I got online and searched for UFO groups in the Louisville area and found a group of folks who like to talk about UFOs and all things related.
Louisville Ufology is a group that meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month at the Main branch of the Louisville Free Public Library from 7:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. in Room #1 in the Lower Lobby.
Facilitated by Bob Patton, who started the Louisville chapter of MUFON (Mutual UFO Network), he described it as like a book club, but for UFOs.
I attended a meeting and pretty much agree with Mr. Patton. I found it quite interesting and informal enough without being chaotic. The topics were varied, everyone seemed comfortable speaking and maybe most importantly, everyone was respectful of one another.
So, if you, or any of the teens in your life are interested in UFOs and have been looking for a group of like-minded individuals, this might be the group for you.
The next meeting will be Wednesday, October 24.
