I dropped by Blush Boutique after work on Wednesday and played a rousing game of dress up with store employees Penelope and Marissa. They styled and modeled some of the hottest spring looks - and wowed me with their incredible shoe wall.

Here are my 3 tips to pulling it all together:

1.) Go bright! If you're a fashion newbie start with a statement piece like a coral bag or a cerulean leather belt. For the more seasoned shopping veteran, be sure to snag a pair of lime skinnies or a supertall wedge with neon yellow embellishments.

2.) Mix prints and patterns. The trick here to is to stick to one color family, like a deep blue for example. Pair a blue and white polka dot pencil skirt with a striped blue and white loose tee, or a red flowery dress with a red and white striped cardigan.

3.) Choose a nude shoe. When wearing a super bright outfit or mixing prints and patterns, it's important to choose a nude shoe to give the outfit balance. Right now nude wedges or tan leather gladiator sandals are the perfect fit.

    About Elise Jenkins

I'm a shopping addict on a budget who loves everything from one-of-a-kind boutique finds to the clearance sales at Macy's. I celebrate the small things in life, like $8 Gap jeans, the perfect V-neck tee at Target, and Zappos outlet sales. My passions include ridiculously high heeled shoes, celebrity gossip, chocolate, fashion photography, coffee, Muse, gin, and my amazingly patient boyfriend and his vivacious 4 year old who isn't afraid to tell me when my shirts are "soooo ugly!" I write a style blog called "TheShoportunist.com" which is a reflection of my love for all things fashion.
