I'm at that point in life where EVERYONE I know is pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or just had a baby. This means I spend a lot more time than I'd like shopping for baby shower gifts, "Congratulations on your new baby!" cards, and fun and interesting maternity supplies.

What I've found most difficult is finding beautiful dresses that make my prego friends look like movies stars rather than the newly voluptuous (and very uncomfortable) baby carrying machines that they are.

Enter, The Nest! This locally-owned boutique has gorgeous maternity dresses that even I, (voluptuous minus the baby bump) would be thrilled to prance around town in. Once you've outfitted yourself you can move on to purchasing darling little outfits for your mini-me to show the world that your tot knows fashion!

What I enjoyed most were the cute and quirky little gifts you can give the excited mom-to-be, including alcohol detecting breast milk strips so your baby doesn't get drunk on the glass of bubbly you had after dinner. High five!

The Nest is a beautiful little store and is one to shop at if you're tired of bringing the same old Babies R' Us and Target gifts to baby shower after baby shower. They're located in the Westport Village at 1301 Herr Lane. 426.4545.

    About Elise Jenkins

I'm a shopping addict on a budget who loves everything from one-of-a-kind boutique finds to the clearance sales at Macy's. I celebrate the small things in life, like $8 Gap jeans, the perfect V-neck tee at Target, and Zappos outlet sales. My passions include ridiculously high heeled shoes, celebrity gossip, chocolate, fashion photography, coffee, Muse, gin, and my amazingly patient boyfriend and his vivacious 4 year old who isn't afraid to tell me when my shirts are "soooo ugly!" I write a style blog called "TheShoportunist.com" which is a reflection of my love for all things fashion.
