Rajon Rondo made an early exit (likely his last for Dallas) while Earl Clark saw a little action and Russ Smith saw none.

Here’s a closer look at how Rondo and the two University of Louisville products on NBA rosters did in the first week of the postseason.

Rondo (Dallas Mavericks): The Louisville native, former University of Kentucky standout point guard and ninth-year pro averaged 9.5 points and three assists in a pair of losses for the Mavs, who trail Houston 3-0 after Friday night’s 130-128 loss.

Rondo had 15 points and five assists in Dallas’ 118-108 loss in Game 1 of the best-of-seven series at Houston last Saturday. He was 7 for 16 from the field, including 1 of 2 from 3-point range, while also committing one turnover in 27 minutes of action.

Three nights later Rondo had four points and two rebounds in the Mavs’ 111-99 loss at Houston. He was 2 for 4 from the field and had one assist and one turnover to go along with four fouls in 10 minutes.

The next day the team said that Rondo was “out indefinitely” due to a back injury and Dallas coach Rick Carlisle said he didn’t expect Rondo to ever wear a Mavs uniform again.

Rondo, who’ll be a free agent after this season, averaged 8.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 7.9 assists per game this season for Boston and Dallas.

Clark (Brooklyn Nets): The sixth-year forward from UofL saw action in one of the Nets’ two games against Atlanta in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Clark tallied three points in 8 minutes off the bench in Brooklyn’s 99-92 loss at Atlanta on Sunday in Game 1 of the series. He was 1 for 6 from the field, including 1 of 2 from 3-point range, while also grabbing one rebound and recording one steal.

Clark, however, was inactive for Game 2 of the series, Atlanta’s 96-91 win.

Clark is averaging 2.7 points and 2.3 rebounds in 10 regular-season games for Brooklyn, which trails Atlanta 2-0 in the best-of-seven series.

Smith (Memphis Grizzlies): The rookie guard from UofL was inactive for the Grizzlies’ first two games against Portland in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Smith, dressed in snazzy suits, missed Memphis’ 100-86 win over Portland on Sunday and its 97-82 triumph over the Trail Blazers on Wednesday night.

Russdiculous is averaging 2.5 points per game this season for New Orleans and Memphis, which leads Portland 2-0 in the best-of-seven series.
