An average family needs about three more hours in each day during the holiday season. Between ugly sweater parties and the insanity of shopping, wrapping, bagging, and baking, there never seems to be enough time. If your family is feeling the pressure, consider the Kentucky Museum of Arts and Craft’s “Holiday Camp” for kids this Saturday, December 11th. Drop the kids off between the hours of 11-4:00, get some shopping completed, and rest assured that your children will be safe and artistically stimulated.

Children will use natural and found materials to create, according to a KMAC press release, “figurative folk sculptures” including a bean mosaic made of various types of legumes. Your kids will be in craft-heaven, your tree is bound to gain a hand-made, keep-sake ornament or two, and you can catch up on whatever it is you’ve been chasing since Thanksgiving.

To make a reservation, contact the museum's Education Department at (502) 589-0102 or

. Space is limited for this annual workshop and the cost for this fantastic experience is $40 for Museum members and $45 for non-members. The museum is located at 715 West Main Street. Good luck parents and kids, keep crafting...
