Looking to enjoy an extravagant fine dining experience this week? Well, you’re in luck - on Wednesday, August 8th, at 7 PM, Henry’s Place will be hosting the American Brigade Wine Dinner! Step inside and return to a time when diners wore their best and participated in the grand show that was fine dining. The staff at Henry’s Place is determined to produce repeat customers by offering unfailingly prompt and pleasant service in an elegant and sophisticated atmosphere worthy of the memory of Henry Watterson, the Louisville bon vivant and former Courier-Journal editor for whom the restaurant was founded.
Henry Watterson enjoyed the finest of dining experiences, including London’s Carlton Hotel and Paris’ Ritz Hotel. At the time, both were under the culinary direction of Auguste Escoffier, the famous chef de cuisine who invented the French brigade system for restaurant kitchens in which an employee would start his career with dishwashing, and then master each station until he was capable of running the entire operation. Today, Henry’s Place employs the brigade system, representing each of the 21 positions masterfully.
