It’s no secret that the hat you decide to wear to Derby involves some crucial decision making. The process of finding the perfect hat can be strenuous and stressful but some local boutiques have great collections waiting to be discovered. From vintage floppy hats to modern and flirty fascinators, hats of all shapes and sizes await a head to call home for the biggest day in hat history. Here are some great local finds that won’t break the bank but will make you stand out in a sea of hats galore.

And keep in mind, if all else fails you can also make your own one-of-a-kind hat. Head over to Dee’s Crafts to build your own or pick up items at the craft store.

    • Start out by deciding how you want to design your hat.
    • Pick your hat or fascinator base.
    • Decide on flowers, feathers, netting, or all three!
    • Decide what you want your focal point to be and build out from there. An off center angle is most flattering.
    • Mark your hat for where you want to place things and start crafting!
