Down One Bourbon Bar is celebrating its first birthday. This place has had an amazing first year. They made Louisville.com’s Top Ten Bourbon Bars in Kentuckiana, coming in third place. Their photo-op-tastic front window was featured in National Geographic Traveler Magazine. They hosted a celebrity Bartending Challenge featuring the lovely and talented Damaris Phillips in the first round. And those are just the stories I have personally covered for Louisville.com.
Perhaps a small part of this awesome bar’s success comes from its location-right next to the KFC Yum Center. With all the awesome events going on there, thirsty sports and music fans are bound to keep the place hopping.
Down One was also ranked in the Top 55 Bourbon Bars in the U.S. by The Bourbon Review, the same folks who put on the annual Bourbon Classic in Louisville. I’ve heard rumors they serve some pretty kick-ass food, too.
The official birthday party will take place March 22 and will feature a barrel tapping of Down One’s Signature 1792 Ridgemont Reserve as well as a multitude of drink specials. Happy Birthday, Down One!
