This evening, the historic Belle of Louisville will be racing the Belle of Cincinnati on the mighty Ohio River beginning at 6 p.m.
Traditionally, the race is held during the Kentucky Derby Festival, but high water on the river forced KDF officials to postpone the race.
The race has only been rescheduled a few times since racing began in 1963.
For those planning to head down to WFPK's Waterfront Wednesday this evening by the Big Four Bridge, the two steamboats racing down the Ohio should provide an extra exciting background to an already exciting live music event.
