There’s a newer, bigger stadium here in the ‘Ville.

It has sold out its first game since the pre-Kragthorpe days.

There’s a new head coach who has fired up the fan base with a deep resume, ending with the Florida Gators.

All signs would indicate it’s a great alignment for a W for the red birds.

Only problem is: It’s just not gonna happen.

    It’s true.

I, along with most other Big Blue Faithful, was very sad to see Kragthorpe be asked to leave.

Seeing him on the sidelines made us all as happy as seeing Gillispie on our side during basketball games made UL fans happy.

But with new chiefs for both UK and UL, a renewed rivalry is on the horizon.

I personally look forward to both teams having a new boss of each program.

I hope it will set up some epic battles for the future as UK continues its forward progress, and UL tries to return to their Orange Bowl Days from just a few years ago.

Much has been made about the two teams and the two coaches- how each will be different from the past, how expectations have risen and how excitement for both sides is fresh and revitalized.

But, now it’s time to see that on the field.

So, tomorrow when the good guys in Blue take the field against those ‘Dirty Birds, there may be some new faces on the field and on the sideline.

But, the result will still be the same as it has been the last 3 years.

    UK wins.

And, while it may only take Pitino 15 seconds, this one won’t be decided until the 4th quarter.
