This Saturday, February 1, is the first Autism Awareness Day in Men’s NCAA college basketball.
Showing that the bluegrass is indeed a compassionate place, both Coach Pitino and Coach Calipari will each be sporting an Autism puzzle piece awareness ribbon on their respective lapels as participants in the event created by Coach Pat Skerry of Towson and Coach Tom Harrion of Marshall, both who have sons with autism.
More than 80 basketball coaches will be wearing the pins. A list of participating coaches can be found at
