Bit to Do

October – a month known for its clear skies and moderate fall temperatures – brought a noticeable chill to Louisville Friday night, but even that couldn’t stop us girls from having a little bit of fun.

Star One’s first Paint the Town Pink event brought out the ladies of Louisville for a night of luxury and all-around good fun. No boys were allowed at this sophisticated expo-style affair, held at the Louisville Executive Aviation Hanger, which made for a great night for us ladies to relax and indulge in the guilty pleasures that we love.

First things first: the food. Always the food. With tons of carbs, alcohol, and hors d'oeuvres, Paint the Town Pink provided all of the delicious treats needed for a fun ladies’ night out. I'll have to admit that I felt rather fancy as I ate mashed potatoes – made from The Catering Company’s show-stealing mashed potato bar – in a wine glass. Sisters Tea Parlor & Boutique also added to the daintiness of the event with their delicious buttery cranberry scones and French caramel crème brulee tea.

After indulging in a few delectable treats, I ventured over to Therapeutic Touch for a free, well-needed massage. Also offering free eyebrow waxing and facial cupping, the local spa remained busy throughout the night as women were pampered from head to toe. New Attitude Hair Salon and Mary Kay also got in on the fun, providing free hairdos and makeup consultations, respectively, to guests throughout the night.

Next up? Shopping. Over twenty vendors, including Arbonne, Thirty-One Gifts, Silpada Jewelry, LeLe's Boutique, and Rodan + Fields, offered guests great deals throughout the night and several chances to win giveaways. With deals offered by the likes of Red River Gorge and Moss Hill, the silent auction was also a huge hit as many women excitedly made their bids on great deals. 

Friday night, it was all about the ladies. Women from all over the city came out in droves for a good ol' girls' night out. But Friday night was also a night of unity. Sporting pink proudly, we united to support the American Cancer Society and the Making Strides for Breast Cancer of Louisville. But we also came together to honor our mothers, sisters, daughters, grandmothers, aunts, and friends, who have fought or are still fighting the great fight. Winning the war against breast cancer continues to be an uphill battle, but it is events like Paint the Town Pink that bring us all a little bit closer in saving our community.
