Gilbert and Sullivan presents Trial by Jury

Marriage and engagement are put on trial in Trial By Jury, a Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Louisville production that begins tonight.

Trial By Jury will take place tonight and tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. each night.  Both performances will take place at the Rudyard Kipling, located at 422 West Oak Street in Old Louisville.

Tickets for each show are $10 per person.  Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling 502-439-6007 or emailing gsslou@gmail.com.

Arthur Sullivan and W.S. Gilbert created the one-act satire Trial by Jury, which looks at marriage, engagement, and the legal system in rather absurd ways.  Gilbert and Sullivan's works, like Trial By Jury, often had absurd and often improbable situations, but the characters act as if these are completely normal happenings.  Expect the same here with a cast featuring all Louisville-area actors and actresses.

The cast includes, among others, Tony Parsley, John Trueblood, and Sarah Hoeppner (pictured above).

GSS of Louisville will also feature a selection of other Gilbert and Sullivan songs as part of its "pre-trial" entertainment.

More information on the Gilbert and Sullivan Society can be found at its website.
