    Bit to Do

    Manilow Music Project

Barry Manilow is undeniably one of the most successful musical artists of all time and while his chart-topping heyday may have peaked in the wild and wonderful 70s, at age 69, he is still making a difference in the world of music. Through the Manilow Music Project, the singer helps bring musical instruments to schools and provides scholarships for budding musicians in the U.S., Canada, and the UK. In advance of his concert next Friday at the Louisville Palace, Manilow donated a new Yamaha piano to the Jefferson County Public Schools in order to kick off an instrument drive to benefit Louisville’s public schools.

The Brooklyn-born, Juillard-trained arranger and composer is ranked as the top Adult Contemporary chart artist of all time with 47 top 40 hits. Whether you’re a fan from way-back, a nostalgia freak, or an ironic hipster, this is a chance to catch a legend perform and help boost music education in our schools if you are also able to participate in the instrument drive. The concert will begin at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 27 at the Palace.

For anyone who wants to donate a new or gently-used musical instrument, the Louisville Palace is accepting donations now through July 27th. The drop-off location is open between noon and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and two hours prior to any show. In addition, those who donate an instrument  will receive two free tickets (valid for pre selected seat locations) for the concert.

Tickets are available online at Manilow.com or Ticketmaster.com, in person at The Louisville Palace Box Office, or by calling 1-800-745-3000.
