Everybody is getting crafty these days. If your resolutions or plans for the new year include spending more time being creative and you’d like to do it among new friends, several new classes starting soon at the Jewish Community Center may be right up your alley.

    Jewelry Making

You’ll make a pair of earrings, a bracelet and a necklace in this four-week class beginning in January, and be ready to make lots more jewelry with your new beading skills. Instructor Yulia Pogrebinsky says, “in this all-inclusive class I will provide you with the techniques, tools, and materials, as well as tips, tricks, and pointers to make your own unique, beautiful pieces.” A second class will build on these skills and introduce wire work.

    ·        Jewelry – Basic Beading. Wednesdays January 14- February 4, 6:30-7:45 p.m. $120 for members, $140 for non-members, including supplies.

    ·        Jewelry – Basic Wire Wrap. Wednesdays February 11-March 1, 6:30-7:45p.m. $120 for members, $140 for non-members, including supplies.

    About Kachina Shaw

A transplanted Hawkeye, I've now lived in Louisville longer than any other city. Can't live without: my husband and fur babies, coal-black coffee, peanut M&Ms, sunflowers, monthly vacations, books, walking paths, massage and a big purse.
