What a lovely week the weather has given us! I personally generally prefer clouds and rain and what many people mistakenly refer to as a dreary climate, but the temperature has been just right and there has been nothing more pleasant than to frolic about in the outdoors. As one traipses along the walkways of the University of Louisville campus, you can see young college students out enjoying the day, stuffing their heads with knowledge, playing frisbee, conversing – perhaps even falling in love; autumn is very romantic. But after today a cold front is scheduled to move in, and so it is perhaps best to retreat into the warmth and comfort of the college's movie theater, the Floyd, playing films every week on the cheap.
It starts today (Thursday) with the fantastic horror-comedy film Tucker and Dale vs. Evil.
A parody of your run-of-the-mill teenage-slasher-in-the-woods genre, Tucker and Dale are two gentle and friendly hillibillies who just want to relax in their new cabin – until some prejudiced teenagers show up and proceed to systematically die in bizarre accidents which consistently come across as murders by our innocent heroes.
Tucker and Dale vs. Evil
plays this evening at 5:00 and 8:00.
With the weekend comes several screenings of
, the fourth in the popular action series, following
Identity, Supremacy
, and
Ultimatum
. Jeremy Renner stars as Aaron Cross, a participant in the Treadstone project which employs genetically enhanced black ops agents. All hell breaks loose in the aftermath of Jason Bourne revealing the truth about Treadstone, as well as Operation Blackbriar, and Cross must deal with the fallout.
The Bourne Legacy
plays Friday and Saturday at 5:00 and 8:00.
