Apologies, gentle readers: I am late today. I know there are probably at least tens of you who count exclusively on me to provide you with the hottest updates and information involving special film screenings and the like for venues such as the Floyd Theater, which we will be discussing in this session. If you are reading this on Thursday, when I am writing it, you have less than an hour to catch the first of tonight's screenings. But! Onto business: tonight (Thursday) the University of Louisville Floyd Theater presents two screenings of the documentary
Freedom Speaks.
Created by the young Sri Lankan filmmakers Suneth Malinga Lokuhew and Jeevan Chandimal, the film delves deep into the effect of war on the Tamil people. Painstakingly researched and executed, the documentary aims to show the world about the horrors and atrocities of violence and how it effects the innocent.

There is something a little different about the weekend screenings of
. Yes, the Will Smith movie from 2004, based on Isaac Asimov's futuristic story about a robot accused of murder – a fact which carries serious implications, as robots are not supposed to be capable of acting outside their programming, and all such machines are, of course, programmed to not harm humans. Show times are, as usual, at 5:00 and 8:00 on Friday and Saturday, but at 7:30 on both days, Google representative Adam Knecht will be in attendance to present exciting news about new and upcoming features. Also, free pizza!
