The eighth annual Waterfront Wednesday Concert series kicks off today, April 22 at 5 p.m.
Todd Snider and his band headline, and are expected to take the stage at 9 p.m. Tony Furtado (6 p.m.) and Extra Golden (7:30 p.m.) are also on the bill.
The monthly concert series will be on the last Wednesday of the month in May through September; in April it comes a week early because Rick Pitino saw his shadow (actually the planners didn't want it to conflict with the Kentucky Derby Festival).
Concerts are held on the Harbor Lawn at Louisville's Waterfront Park.
Admission is free, but the booze is not (cash bar, not BYOB).
The average attendance at last year's concerts was more than 3,500 people per show.
The May convert will feature Meat Puppets, The Features and Broken Spurs.
