    Bit to Do

Hop on the F.A.T. Friday Hop this evening to check out the opening of new shows on Frankfort Avenue and throughout the Crescent Hill area.  For one a bit unconventional, Gallery Janjobe (www.galleryjanjobe.com, at the Mellwood Arts and Entertainment Center) will debut its Symbols exhibit featuring the work of artist Gena Neumann.

Neumann's work is constructed using reclaimed metals in combination with new materials.  Nine freestanding pieces are included in the exhibit.  Some works, including "Symbolon," shown above, are encoded with messages which will be revealed to the buyer one year after purchase.  The gallery will host the opening reception with food, drink and live music for the exhibit tonight at the Trolley Hop.

If you are planning on going to the F.A.T. Friday Trolley Hop, Mellwood Arts and Entertainment Center may be a bit off the beaten path, but is definitely worth checking out - for Gallery Janjobe and others like it.
