We're neck deep in summer folks, and for me, that translates to only one thing: food. Here's a round up of all the local farmers markets in Louisville where you can get your hands on fresh locally grown produce, sweet baked goods, pastries, granola, jams, jellies, salsas, honey, and much more!!
You can get an omelet made to order at the Bardstown Road Farmers Market. Located at the Presbyterian Church parking lot (1772 Bardstown Rd.), the market is held every Saturday from 8am to 12pm and open now through December 31st.
Food trucks are always on hand at the Gray Street Farmers Market. It's located at the 400 Block of East Gray Street and held every Thursday from 10:30am to 2pm (open until October 29th).
The Phoenix Hill Nulu Farmers Market has an Apple Cider Fest. And yes, they have hand cranked cider (cue screams of joy). Located at the parking lot of Fresh Start Growers Supply (1007 E. Jefferson St.), the market is held every Tuesday from 3pm to 6pm and open now through October 27th.
The Douglass Loop Farmers Market is full of sweet treats like milk from the Almond Creamery. It's located in the parking lot of Douglass Boulevard Christian Church (2005 Douglass Blvd.) and held every Saturday from 10am to 2pm (open until late fall).
The St. Andrews Farmers Market is located in front of the Saint Andrews United Church of Christ (2608 Browns Ln.). It's held every Thursday from 3pm to 6:30pm and open now through October 15th.
The Beechmont Open Air Market offers free outdoor yoga classes. Located in the Beechmont Baptist Church parking lot (4574 S. 3rd St.), the market is held every Saturday from 8am to 12pm and open now through October 17th.
Jam to some music while you shop at the Jeffersontown Farmers Market. Located at 10434 Watterson Trail, the market is open every Saturday from 8am to 12:30pm, now through October 31st.
The Southwest Farmers Market is located in the Valley High School South parking lot (10200 Dixie Hwy.) and held every Saturday from 9am to 1pm (open until September 26th).
The Rainbow Blossom Farmers Market is located at 3738 Lexington Road and is held every Sunday from 12pm to 4pm (open until October 24th).
The St. Matthews Farmers Market is located in the parking lot of Beargrass Christian Church (4100 Shelbyville Rd.) and is held every Saturday from 8am to 12pm (open until October 10th).
The Whole Foods Market Farmers Market is located at 4944 Shelbyville Road and is held every Wednesday from 3pm to 7pm, now through September 24th.
The Westport Road Baptist Farmers Market is loaded with freshly cut bouquets. Located in the parking lot of the Westport Road Baptist Church (9705 Westport Rd.), the market is held every Saturday from 9am to 1pm (open until October 24th).
The Lyndon Farmers Market is located in the parking lot of the Westport Road Christian Church (7515 Westport Rd.) and is held every Thursday from 3pm to 6pm (open now through October 29th).
The Old Louisville Farm Works Market is located in the parking lot of the Walnut Street Baptist Church (1101 S. 3rd St.) and held every Wednesday from 2pm to 6pm (open until October 28th).
The University of Louisville Belknap Farmers Market offers free outdoor Zumba classes. Located on 3rd St & Brandeis Avenue, the market is held every Thursday from 3:30pm to 6:30pm and open now through October 15th.
The Bluegrass Farmers Market is located at 1850 Bluegrass Avenue and held every Thursday from 3pm to 6pm (open until late fall).
The Beckley Creek Park Farmers Market is located in Beckley Creek Park (1800 Beckley Creek Pkwy.) and held every first & third Sunday of the Month from 11am to 2pm, now through September 20th.
The Crescent Hill Farmers Market is located in the parking lot of the Crescent Hill United Methodist Church (201 S. Peterson Ave.). It is held every Friday from 7am to 11am until October 30th.
The Mazzoli Farm Market is located in front of the Mazzoli Federal Building (600 MLK Jr Place) and held every Wednesday from 10am to 1pm, now through October 28th.
The St. Francis of the Fields Farmers Market is located in the St. Francis of the Field Episcopal Church parking lot (6710 Wolf Pen Branch Road). It is held every Tuesday from 3pm to 6:30pm & every Saturday from 9:30am to 12:30pm until October 31st.
The Big "A" Farmers Market is located at the Commerce Center Place next to the Food Distribution Center (2901 Commerce Center Place). It is held every Tuesday and Thursday from 8am to 11:30am, now through October 30th.
The People's Farmers Market at Russell is located at the City View Apartment Complex on the corner of 11th and Muhammad Ali Blvd. It is held every Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday from 12pm to 5pm, until October.
The River Park Marina Farmers Market is located in the River Park Marina parking lot (1501 Marinas Edge Way) and held every 3rd Wednesday from 3pm to 7pm (open June 17th through November 18th).
