    Bit to Do

Don’t miss out on the 7th annual Mighty Kindness Festival - Saturday 4/26

It’s finally here – the Mighty Kindness Earth Day Hoot, from 12 - 6 this Saturday. Grab your friends, your family, your dogs and hike down to Waterfront Park's Brown Forman Amphitheater (by the Big Four Bridge) for a day of celebrating all the positive things happening in our community. At this free unity festival you will not only be entertained by an amazing full-day line-up of local bands and be dazzled by the gorgeous talents of aerial artists, but you will also get to explore over 200 booths of local foods, art, crafts, entertainment, the healing arts, green businesses, educational workshops, social justice programs, and community organizations. You can even choose to experience the SpiritWalk, the movement circle, the massage-a-thon, or the community jam and drum circles. With a rating by LEO as the “Best Festival” after the Derby, you will not want to miss out!

Mighty Kindness was initiated in 2008 by a small group of visionaries who wanted to build sustainability and connection in our community. It was originally held at Willow Park with a few booths and about 80 people. It has since exploded to be a major event in the city, supported by over a thousand folks. The “Mighty Kind Krewe” who helped build this festival is a small group of musicians, students, teachers, community leaders, and healers who volunteer their time because they believe in the possibility of a kinder world. Year after year, they receive an overwhelmingly positive response from the community. They hope that people who attend the festival will be inspired, will learn, and will potentially get involved in positive things happening in their community.

So come, bring a blanket or some camping chairs, and post up in the spring air for an afternoon of free musical entertainment, rated by us, Louisville.com, as one of the top 15 music festivals in Louisville. Check out the line-up below. For more information, visit www.mightykindness.org
