I don't know about you, but I am excited about the upcoming return of Disney on Ice to Louisville! This year the production is "Worlds of Fantasy" and features high-speed stunts by Lightning McQueen, Mater and other crew members of Cars race across the ice. The Little Mermaid, Tinkerbell and Pixie Hollow and the Toy Story gang are coming too. This one of a kind production will be at the Yum Center September 27-30 for seven performances.
I had the pleasure of a phone interview with Samantha Cepican, a member of the ensemble. She is excited to be in Disney on Ice "Worlds of Fantasy" and looks forward to coming to Louisville. From Illinois, she has traveled with Feld Entertainment all over North America, Europe, Mexico and Canada. Her favorite stop is Argentina and she loves architecture. She has had lots of great experiences and is happy to be back in the states.
Samantha started ice skating at age 3 1/2, her older sister was a student teacher at her hometown ice rink. She competed for several years and her greatest achievement was medaling at the 2003 US nationals. She hopes to coach and choreograph again in the future.
Since joining Feld Entertainment in 2007, Samantha has really enjoyed skating in the Disney on Ice performances. And loves when an audience is included. What advice would she give children who dream to perform and/or skate? "To keep practicing and skate not only to be technically good, but to enjoy every minute. Do it for yourself so you can convey the joy."
"This show is perfect for boys and girls, all ages - kids to their grandparents. I want to stay as long as they will have me." said Samantha Cepican when asked who this production is geared towards.
