    Known as the largest indoor air-conditioned fair in America and boasting over 500,000 visitors each year, the Kentucky State Fair will once again offer great entertainment for 2008. Guests will find over 1.2 million square feet of exhibit and informational space within the Expo Center, as well as thrillway rides and games located outside.
    For the fans who come out to the fair for the music, the 2008 schedule includes an impressive list of both free and paid concerts.

    One of the highlights of the state fair, the World’s Championship Horse Show, will be held August 17-23rd. Last year’s horse shows had over 50,000 people in attendance and showed over 2000 horses. World champions are crowned in separate divisions during this annual show.
    Visitors will also find various competitions within the expo center from artistic abilities, to photography, to a cheer and dance showcase. Learn about the state of Kentucky in The Pride of the Counties exhibit. Find the latest styles and techniques from everything from home improvement to financial programs and everything in-between. Food vendors are also located throughout the Expo Center as guests will find any of the flea-market type items available for purchase.
    Wanting to see farm animals without taking a trip out to a farm? The Expo Center offers many animal displays throughout the fair. Find rabbits, cattle, goats, sheep, horses and pigeons within Broadbent Arena and the Pavilion.
    Ride the fair rides and try the fair games along the thrillway. Try your skill at basketball, dart throwing and baseball throwing, just to name a few. Try an elephant ear, lemon ice or corn dog to get the full effect of being at the Kentucky State Fair!
    With an economic impact surpassing an annual estimated $16 million, the Kentucky State Fair is one of the most important events for the city of Louisville. With a full and part time staff of approximately 1000 people, the fair is also offers many knowledgeable staff members to help make your trip an easy one.
    Prices
    Tickets are available in Advance At Kroger for $5 or are $8 at the gate. Children 3-12 yrs.(2 yrs. & under are free) $2 in advance, $4 at the gate. Senior Citizens (55 yrs. old & over)are $2 in advance or $4 at Kroger
    * Car Parking is available for $6 and is not included in admission prices.
    Admission varies for each of the paid concerts, evening performances of the World's Championship Horse Show, and Thrillway rides.
