Tickets are on sale for CollaborACT!, a multi-theater event and revue-style show to raise money for the fight against cancer.
CollaborACT! is an Acting Against Cancer-hosted event that will take place on June 26 at 7:30 p.m. (pre-show beginning at 6 p.m.) in the Bomhard Theater at the Kentucky Center for the Arts. The building is located at 501 W. Main Street in downtown Louisville.
The event will feature a pre-show open bar, appetizers, a silent auction and interactive booths. Among the booths will be an assembly station to create art therapy packs for the pediatric cancer patients. The silent auction, meanwhile, will feature items such as a $500 Genesis Diamonds gift certificate, overnight stays at the 21c Museum Hotel and the Pillow and Paddock Bed and Breakfast, a spa basket from Joseph's Salon and Spa and other items.
During the show inside the Bomhard Theater, emcee Tom Dunbar will present multiple theater companies performing revue-style numbers. Among the companies scheduled to perform include Pandora Productions, Stage One, Theater [502], Centerstage and others.
After the show, the night is still not over. For those still needing to let loose, live music from Tricycle the Trio and dancing will take place in the Kentucky Center lobby.
The evening's profits will help benefit the art therapy program of The Addison Jo Blair Cancer Care Center at Kosair Children's Hospital. Acting Against Cancer is using this event to help fulfill a $100,000 pledge made for the care center's program.
Tickets for the evening's festivities are $30 for the revue and afterparty or $65 for all parts of the evening. All tickets can be purchased in multiple ways: via the Kentucky Center box office, the Kentucky Center website, or by calling Kentucky Center at 1-800-775-7777. More information on the evening can also be found at the Kentucky Center website.
Following CollaborACT!, Acting Against Cancer will open its 2015-16 season with performances of "The Addams Family" in October. "American Idiot" will follow in January and February 2016.
