In the all-ages musical, Horton the elephant must perform multiple tasks, including protecting JoJo, his tiny friend, as well as the Whoville residents from dangers. Horton is also called upon by Mayzie La Bird to protect an abandoed egg. Soon, Horton and others face challenges of friendship, loyalty, community, and family.

Seussical, the Musical, created by Eric Idle, Lynn Ahrens, and Stephen Flaherty, brings forth many favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including the Cat in the Hat, Horton, and the residents of Who-ville, into one production. The musical was on Broadway at the Richard Rogers Theatre for nearly 200 performances in 2000.

Seussical is the first show of Centerstage's 2010-2011 season. Centerstage’s other shows include The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Man of La Mancha, and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.
