They may be food industry professionals, but we’re not talking line cooks at Applebee’s here.

Don’t ask Anthony Bourdain and Eric Ripert about life in the fast food grind you find yourself in three nights a week. These guys are highly renowned chefs of award-winning New York City restaurants.

    And if that isn’t enough?

Both Bourdain and Ripert are also successful authors, with Bourdain checking in with two bestselling tomes, most recently Medium Raw: A Bloody Valentine to the World of Food and the People Who Cook.

Ripert, chef and co-owner of New York’s Le Bernardin, may be most familiar to Louisvillians as one of the guest judges on Bravo’s Top Chef, the show which most recently canned Edward Lee, chef and owner of local hot spot eatery, 610 Magnolia.

Bourdain, former executive chef at New York’s Les Halles, now travels the world as the blunt and brusque host of No Reservations, which showcases not only exotic food from around the world, but the cultural setting in which it is prepared. Now in its seventh season on The Travel Channel, the five-time Emmy nominated series continues to sweep the globe for distinctive delicacies.

Bourdain and Ripert pair up like lobster and butter when they take to the stage on Saturday evening at the Kentucky Center. Regaling the audience with their humorous and insightful tales of cuisine and quests, the two will square off to debate their philosophies of food, and the role it plays in our society.

Tickets for Good Vs. Evil: Anthony Bourdain & Eric Ripert start at $35 and can be purchased at the Kentucky Center online, at the ticket office drive-thru or by calling 800-775-7777. The show begins at 8pm. Copies of Bourdain’s and Ripert’s books will be available for purchase.
