The weather is getting warmer, the days are growing longer and with the kids out of school until August, summer just opened the door to brand new opportunities. With a new daily routine allowing you to sleep a little later, your favorite restaurants serving summertime drink specials and the local ice cream truck making an appearance on your street every afternoon, staying fit and healthy often gets moved to the back burner for the summer. But not for Lisa and Jeff Wilkins, owners of Kentucky’s first Taziki’s Mediterranean Café, who are bringing the new healthy restaurant to Louisville!
What’s better than a family-sized dinner of freshly grilled lamb, basmati rice, roasted potatoes and Greek salad for under $35? How about enjoying it all without any unnecessary calories and still having room for fresh baklava. Get your tastebuds ready without having to loosen your belt!
“Taziki’s believes in bringing Southern hospitality to its delicious Mediterranean dishes, giving families healthy alternatives when dining out,” Lisa Wilkins said of the restaurant chain’s first Kentucky location. The Mediterranean-inspired restaurant has locations in 12 states across the country and plans to open its Louisville location at 13317 Shelbyville Road in the Middletown Commons shopping center later this month.
Taziki’s will also be donating a portion of its profits from its grand opening to Cedar Lake, a Kentucky-based nonprofit organization that offers care and support to adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
“We are dedicated to supporting the Louisville community and look forward to giving back in many ways,” Jeff Wilkins said.
Taziki’s Mediterranean Café offers a full menu of original Mediterranean-inspired recipes and features a wide selection of vegetarian options. For more information on the restaurant’s menu and details of their grand opening, visit their website here.
