    At the beginning of December, we asked our Twitter followers (follow us!) what the best local podcasts were in Louisville. The question sparked a lot of comments from our wonderful followers and allowed us to compile a list of your favorites. Here they are!

    1. Louisville Not Kentucky

    A Louisville-focused podcast produced by Melissa Chipman and Linda Golden. LouNotKy provides an assortment of theater, restaurant openings, events, and general happenings in the Ville.

    1. Louisville.am CREW

    Louisville.am is a collaborative effort of local podcasters who are passionate about bringing real, local, audio content to their listeners. Their content is engaging, high quality, and most importantly, locally informing. This podcast includes:

    Louisville Family Fun: Stephanie White explores family-friendly happenings in Louisville and hosts conversations about parenting in Louisville and entertaining families in the metro area. Discussions include: events, restaurants, attractions, museums and activities with the family in mind.

    The Crunch Zone: Mike and Mark discuss all things Cardinal Athletics weekly to get their listeners caught up on games, recruits, announcements, and much more. They also host a series of interviews with former coaches, players, and famed Louisville supporters.

    Deliciously Louisville: Host Ashlee Clark Thompson loves good food and a good deal, and both are explored in this podcast. Thompson focuses on everyday good eating in Louisville and the local food scene.

    Louisville Beer: John Wurth, Scott Lykins, and John King direct their listeners through the craft beer scene in Louisville. This podcast has become the place for craft beer news, reviews,, tips and events. Great information on Louisville breweries, a calendar of weekly beer-related events, and videos make this podcast and website a great place for Louisvillian beer lovers.     The Rusty Satellite: Blogger Rick Redding hosts a weekly look into the headlines of the week. Redding interviews members of the media and provides his take on current Louisville topics and news. Information and opinions are discussed and talks with local citizens.

    Get Fit Louisville: Each week Jeff Miller, owner of VO2 Multisport and Angie Fneton share workout tips, news, and upcoming events in Louisville’s outdoor and multisport community.

    Arts & Entertainment On The Fringe: A bi-weekly podcast that features interviews with Louisville’s thriving arts community. Hosted by Danny O’Day, he discusses and explores the wonderland of the arts from painters, poets, musicians, singers, sculptors, playwrights, and art entrepreneurs.

    Startups: Dan Vonderheide hosts conversations with Louisville entrepreneurs as they share their stories of success, failure, and the lessons they’ve learned. This podcast inspires action for their listeners to achieve their dream.

    PodCATS: Hosted by Kenny and Chris, this podcast is an in-depth look into the mind of a University of Kentucky fan. This show covers basketball and football and dissects current news, games and stats, with a few surprises every week.

    What Happens Next: The Louisville Improvisors host this freewheeling, sporadic, informational, and relatable podcast. Discussions are as unconstrained as the podcast itself and consist of conversations of issues and interviews with no limits.

           3. Movie Meltdown

    Movie Meltdown is a movie-themed podcast that hosts a new episode each week interviewing an array of actors and filmmakers with a discussion of specific movies. Trends in Hollywood and changes in the film industry and current news are also discussed. Listen here: Movie Meltdown.

         4. The WFPL Team

    WFPL News, 89.3 FM, the news for Louisville, including politics, environment, arts, education, music, sports and investigative reporting. A full list of the podcasts is here.

    Byline: Lead by Rick Howlett on Fridays at 1pm, the top stories of Louisville are re-examined and future topics are discussed. Topics from arts to politics, to general what’s happening in Louisville is discussed.

    Noise and Notes: Available to listen to on Saturday night at 10 p.m., WFPL’s Phillip Bailey dissects city government and national politics. Bailey, WFPL’s political editor dissects the issues and provides of the city, state and regional campaigns and elected officials.

    Strange Fruit: Dr. Kaila Story and Jaison Gardner host this weekly podcast, posted every Saturday, discussing musings on politics, pop culture and black gay life.

    Nothing But Net: WFPL’s college basketball podcast directors Mark Bacon and Matt Anthony host this podcast every Monday. They provide a weekly analysis of NCAA basketball action

    Sound on Film: Each Friday, hosts Chris Ritter, a freelance filmmaker and Robert Kahne, an avid film blogger, discuss the latest film releases and critique interesting movies in Louisville theaters.

          5. Ice Cream Headache

    A podcast by good friends Brian Eichenberger and Mark Murdock, whose love for indie rock, comedy, and TV gives this podcast uniqueness. Ice Cream Headache is often joined by friends and guest celebrities who enjoy talking about their most nerdy interests as much as Brian and Murdock do.

        6. Probably Not Podcast

    Probably Not Podcast is a game show that is joined by local artists, musicians, and friends. Join Alex Smith, Jessica Kessinger, Tony Lombardi, and their guests as they answer questions and solve their listener’s dilemmas.

       7. Developing Courage

    Developing Courage focuses on exploring child development through intentional parenting. Kara Vonderheide and Lauren Thomas address parental concerns, provide vital information on many family-friendly venues, and interview local parents and Louisville advocates that provide great insight on child development.

    These are not in any particular order, but are the best podcasts to listen to in the Ville given to us from our Twitter followers. If there are any others we didn’t list, feel free add them in the comments!
