The historic Belle of Louisville will host Thanksgiving Riverside, an upscale buffet dinner served dockside on Thursday, November 24th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Legendary Lady will be transformed into a holiday wonderland, with live harp and strings music and traditional holiday decorations.
The buffet will open at 1:00 p.m., with turkey and beef carving stations and other traditional favorites, including a select wine list. After dinner, guests are welcome to relax and enjoy drink specials from the full-service cash bar or visit the on-board museum. Tickets are $45 for adults and$25 for children, and reservations are required.
Holiday décor and special balloon creations will be provided by event partner Ah, Whatta ‘Bout Mimi. “We are excited to be a part of this celebration, said owner Martha McCoy. “The Belle is such a beautiful and historic landmark – we can’t wait to bring her some holiday magic.
While the Belle’s season has traditionally ended in late October, the installation of the new heating/air conditioning system has made it possible for the 97-year-old steamboat to extend her season of both public and private events through the end of the year. “The Belle is a unique venue with a wonderful historic atmosphere,” said Belle CEO Linda Harris. “The ability to offer heated event space has made bookings for weddings and holiday parties especially popular.”
Other special dockside celebrations on the Belle include a Holiday Dinner on Saturday, December 10th from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., which will be ideal for small companies, corporate departments, or a special group of family and friends. Tickets for the December 10 dinner are $65 per person. Tables for six are available for $390; tables for eight are $520. Tickets are still available for both the Thanksgiving Riverside Dinner and the Holiday Riverside Dinner by calling the Belle of Louisville box office at 502.574.2992.
