
The 16th Annual Doctors’ Ball – sponsored by the Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s Foundation – will celebrate Louisville’s outstanding medical community on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011 at the Marriott Louisville Downtown, 280 West Jefferson Street in Louisville.
The Doctors’ Ball will have a distinct Halloween feel this year. Dress is Black Tie, Masks or Haunting Halloween costumes are optional but, preferred. Creepy cocktails and a Ghostly silent auction begin at 6:30 p.m., the Phantastic Feast is at 8:00 p.m., an awards ceremony, and dancing until midnight with music provided by Endless Summer Band follows. The charity gala raises funds to benefit the Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s Foundation. The Foundation focuses on making a real difference in the health of our community—from building new patient care facilities and acquiring new technologies to providing educational opportunities for nursing students and discovering medical breakthroughs.
This year’s event will honor these distinguished individuals for excellence in leadership, innovation and service:
J. David Richardson, M.D., the Ephraim McDowell Physician of the Year.
Don & Libby Parkinson, Community Leaders of the Year.
Howard F. Bracco, Ph.D., CBHE, the Excellence in Mental Health award recipient.
Sandra E. Brooks, M.D., MBA, will be honored for Excellence in Community Service.
Mark Slaughter, M.D., the Excellence in Education award recipient.
Kathy Bertolone, R.N, M.S.N., CFNP, will be honored for Excellence in Nursing and
Excellence in International Humanitarian Service.
