    Banditos

Birmingham band Banditos will play Zanzabar this Saturday night, Dec. 20. This Alabama group, now based in Nashville, plays a blend of southern rock, blues, and honky-tonk with some truly powerhouse vocals from Mary Beth Richardson.

The Banditos are signed with Bloodshot Records and have yet to release their debut album, which is due out in early 2015. Richardson shares vocals with guitarist Timothy Parsons and banjo player Stephen Pierce. Jeffery Salter plays lap steel and guitar and the rhythm section is made up of Daniel Vines on upright bass and drummer Randy Wade. They have some buzz, being named by Paste Magazine as one of its "12 Alabama Bands You Should Listen to Now" in 2013 -- a list that also included St. Paul and the Broken Bones.

Catch Banditos this Saturday at Zanzabar (doors at 8, show at 9 p.m.) along with Nashville-based rock trio Switchmen. Tickets are $6.

Check out the song, "No Good," on YouTube.
