Petrino announced Monday that the Cardinals will be welcoming Darrick McGee as the assistant head coach, offensive coordinator, and quarterbacks coach. Read the press release here.

A week after Petrino's rehire and with sources saying that Georgia Bulldog's defensive coordinator Todd Grantham will be the new defensive coordinator for the Cardinals, the UofL football staff is home to many new faces.

McGee has head coach at UAB for the last two seasons and was the offensive coordinator for head coach Petrino in 2010-11. He will reunite with Petrino for the Cardinals 2014-2015 football season.

"Garrick and I go way back," Petrino said during a news conference Monday, according to

    .

Many sources confirm that Petrino has said that he and McGee agree on a lot of things and have similar coaching strategies. This, combined with the phenomenal athletes, will confirm a fantastic season for the Cardinals.
