Shorty Rossi along with his service dog Hercules, star of Animal Planet’s Pit Boss, will be at Metro Animal Service’s Animal House Adoption Center on November 17 from 10 am - 2 pm. This is an important educational event that includes event partner Hand-In-Paw Rescue. The goal of this event is to inform the public about the importance of spaying and neutering pets.

For more information about Shorty Rossi go to Animal Planet's website. For more information on Rescue/Event partner Hand-In-Paw Rescue go here.

“We see almost 12,000 animals enter our shelter every year,” said Director of Louisville Metro Animal Services Justin Scally. “Spaying and neutering is a big part of reducing our intake numbers and ultimately increasing lifesaving.”

Over a dozen rescue groups and animal care advocates along with vendors will join the fun. Many adoptable animals will be present hoping to find their forever homes.

In conjunction with this event, Metro Animal Services will offer an adoption special - Dogs six months or older are $85 and cats and kittens are $30 with approved adoption applications. This is a big reduction in adoption fees in order to reduce the number of animals at the shelter. For more information on adopting a pet or to fill out an adoption application go to Louisville Metro Animal Services website here.

Animal House Adoption Center is located at 3516 Newburg Road, Louisville, KY.
