One of the nice things about living in Louisville is that you can meet a different member of the bourbon business just about every week. Friday night at Match Cigar Bar and Riverside Cigars in Jeffersonville (come on, you know we’ve annexed Southern Indiana), Kyle Henderson, Production Manager of Angel’s Envy, will join forces with Jonathan Drew of Drew Estate Cigars to create an event that is sure to please bourbon and cigar connoisseurs from all around.
Angel’s Envy and Drew Estate have a mutual status as relative new kids on the block in their respective fields. Lincoln Henderson, former Master Distiller of Brown-Forman, launched Angel’s Envy in 2011. Since then, the port barrel-finished bourbon has been wildly popular, with their Rye and Cask-Strength offerings flying off the shelves and currently unavailable.
Similarly, Drew Estate is a relative newcomer to the cigar world. Started in 1998, the brand has grown to include two of my personal favorites- My Uzi Weighs a Ton and Liga Undercrown. Those familiar with the Liga offerings may wonder why I’m not obsessed with a Liga Privada Ferrel Flying Pig or Rat Tail. The answer is simple-they’re above my pay grade. For that matter, so is MUWAT, which is why Liga Undercrown is my current go-to.
Friday night, May 23, at 7 p.m., join the crew at Match Cigar Bar for a lovely meal catered by Dean Corbett of Corbett’s Restaurant. The $300 ticket also includes a bottle of Match Cigar Bar’s private label Angel’s Envy, 3 rare Drew Estate cigars, and a Liga #9 sampler pack, a $500 value. As an added bonus, boxes of the Flying Pig will be available for sale, which is unheard of (there’s a limit of 2 sticks per customer at my nearest smoke shop).
Tickets to this event are extremely limited. Click here to purchase. Be sure to Tweet me @LouGirl502 if you’re planning to go.
