American Authors are a band to catch now…and I mean right now, otherwise in six months you’ll be sitting around telling your friends how you could have seen those guys, way back when.

American Authors are well on their way to becoming one of America’s great young bands.  Their last time through Louisville, at Hard Rock Café, was just as their debut single “The Best Day of My Life” (which I assure you, you’ve heard somewhere) was hitting the charts.  Now, they have a full album out, and "The Best Day of My Life" is all over the charts and t.v. and movies; but tomorrow the Authors will be returning to Louisville, less than six months after their local debut, to a venue twice the size in Headliners.

The guys in the band met in Boston while they were all attending the Berklee School of Music, and began recording under a different name.  It wasn’t until they relocated to Brooklyn, that American Authors was truly born.

The music itself begins with a very earthy-Americana approach, and then they infuse it all with a synthed-out pop hook that leaves a song swirling in your memory for days to come.  Their stock in the industry is rising quickly, mostly due to the spectacular buzz circulating around their live show.  Filled with high energy, intricate arrangements, and the strongest voice this side of Nate Ruess, in Authors' singer Zac Barnett – the show needs to be described in no more words than: just a good time.

American Authors are currently on tour in support of their debut album Oh, What a Life.  The show in Louisville is April 7th at Headliners Music Hall, Wild Cub will be the opening act.  The concert starts at 7:00 PM – and tickets are $15.

    About Brent Owen

Born and raised in Louisville, I have lived here most of my life (except during a short furlough, when I, lovelorn and naive, followed a girl to Baton Rouge). My roots are here, my family, my friends, and my life are all here. I work primarily as a free-lance writer for a few local and regional publications. I have also written two books (one a memoir, the other a novel) that barring some divine intervention, will probably never see the light of day. I find myself deeply ingrained in the local bar scene, or perhaps better said, I often indulge in the local drinking culture. I love music, movies, comedy, and really just about any other live performance art.
