The chilly autumn air is slowly but surely sliding into our atmosphere, and with the warm weather getting closer and closer to its final days of the year, it’s important to squeeze out that last bit of summertime fun before it’s all gone. Lucky for us Louisvillians, this city is always busy with things to do all year long. There’s one approaching event in particular that's sure to get the whole family excited to go outside and bask in the late summer sun.

On Saturday, August 22, Louisville’s Jewish Community Center will be commemorating 125 wonderful years in business, and they’re throwing a huge party to celebrate. But this isn’t your typical anniversary celebration. This is an all-ages festival that will feature 125 different fun activities!

“The JCC has served the community for 125 years and continues to do so with this event,” said event planner Lenae Price. “Wear your bathing suit and tennis shoes because you’ll get a chance to use both!”

And the best part of this one-of-a-kind celebration is that everyone is invited, not just members!

“There will be something for every member. And people who don’t know much about the JCC can come and find something to do,” Price said excitedly. “This is for everybody who has driven past the JCC and thought ‘I wonder what’s going on in there.’ Here is our chance to show them.”

Events at the JCC’s 125 Festival will include a variety of crafts, sports, face painting, pool games, karaoke and much more! Food trucks will be on sight to offer scrumptious cuisine to festival-goers, along with an adult beverage vendor.

This festival will take place at the Jewish Community Center of Louisville located at 3600 Dutchmans Lane from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 22. Everyone is welcome, and admission is free, however the JCC staff does ask that all guests bring a donation of a canned food item for the “Food, Glorious Food” drive in support of local food pantries.
