2011 was a mixed bag for the city of Louisville. We made a lot of lists this year, some we can be proud of, some we can be ashamed of, and one that will just make you want to roll over and go to sleep! Here's a quick look back at some of the rankings.
First, let’s go over the good:
BEST CITIES FOR FAMILIES – Parenting Magazine’s annual list of great palaces to raise your family, included the River City at #10. They cited affordable housing, lots of parks and attractions like the Slugger Museum and more. (See the entire list here)
100 BEST COMMUNITIES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE – America's Promise Alliance had Louisville on it's yearly awards list. The awards have been presented for 5 years, Louisville has made the list all five years. The Lane Report said Louisville was recognized for having innovative partnerships and programs shared with Louisville Metro Government, Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS), Metro United Way, local businesses and non-profit service providers.
